Peoples Reaction To Receding Hair

The condition is genetically induced and generally affects women by gradually thinning the hair from all parts of the head, whereas men suffer from a receding hairline and commence to lose their hair from the temples and forehead areas.
Medications that are used for the treatment of arthritis, gout, depression and high blood pressure, can cause hair loss in certain people. Even birth control pills can cause some women to suffer hair loss. Chemotherapy or radiation treatment will cause temporary baldness. A hormonal imbalance can also cause excessive hair loss. Wearing the hair tightly plaited, anxiety and stress can also induce baldness in certain people.
Most young people, particularly men, are inclined to simply ignore the first signs of receding hair as they can well afford to lose a bit of hair, and besides, it tends to make them look more mature. Unfortunately for most people, the balding process continues at a steady rate until it becomes a serious threat to their personal looks and social standing.
Young men who suffer from premature pattern baldness, may become depressed and anxious, lose a great degree of self esteem, and could also tend to become withdrawn. The outlook of becoming bald at an early age could have a traumatic affect on a young man, which may affect his career opportunities, social and personal lifestyle. People who become self conscious because of their baldness, will try to disguise the fact and avoid social gatherings, dances and sporting activities. As the condition progresses, the afflicted will become distant, and avoid close contact with others, which will lead to other emotional and physical problems.
These days, our hair is looked upon as an embellishment, a full head of hair implies beauty, virility and youth. People are sometimes overlooked for promotion or teased at work, because of premature balding, they may also be ostracized socially and regarded as un-photogenic.
Various psychological and emotional issues such as, insecurity, isolation, panic, depression, and suicidal tendencies in certain cases, can be attributed to premature balding. In order to try and ignore their condition, affected people tend to avoid looking at a mirror, this can lead to self neglect.
Becoming prematurely bald can be regarded as a disability for most people, as it takes away their youthfulness, makes them self conscious, and affects their whole lifestyle.
