Ending The Smoking Habit - What Is A Look At Smoking Control
Here is a list on the ways to set your mind to the place so that you make a very knowing choice to stop smoking. This is really a determination that if you use your head it just does not make any sense to continue with your smoking at all. By making a plan and following it and by knowing what you are going to get as a reward for stopping this habit you will cause yourself and remind your own self even when you are tempted that the reward is so much more for breaking the habit than to continue with behavior that is costing you dearly both financially and health wise.
I never thought I would be able to quit my smoking addiction. It seemed like I was always waiting until the pressure in my life was at a minimum to begin to stop and of course that just never seemed to happen. I used my smoking as an anxiety reliever and I just didn't know what to substitute it with. I was anxious of gaining weight and it seemed like every time I stopped smoking or even attempted smoking control, I replaced my smoking with eating and as soon as I saw a weight gain over five pound I was once again smoking.
It wasn't easy but I started some smoking control by replacing other activities and habits for times when I would usually smoke. When I decided that I had to quit the smoking habit I started with a list of pros and cons for my decision to smoke or to stop. In other words what I was getting out of smoking and then the cons to maintaining my smoking habit. Of course the pros far outweighed the cons. The financial and health costs of a smoking addiction makes the decision to continue one you cant really defend in any sense except for the fact that as a smoker this is a habit that you savor.
After I made my list I hung this list up on my bathroom mirror and also on my refrigerator door. I wanted each day to see my reasons for changing my behavior this aided quite since quitting smoking is a decision one has to establish day by day. Whenever you stop smoking you have to presume there will be times when you will error but in the times past that I slipped, I just accepted failure and started smoking full steam ahead. This time if I backslid and bought a pack of cigarettes or smoked one I begged from a friend I allowed myself forgiveness for not being perfect and started right back up.
Whenever I saw the scales go up I made sure to exercise more and not to replace eating with smoking. I also rewarded myself by pampering myself with a little something I by and large wouldn't do for myself. Any time I pay attention to careful smoking control my cigarette consumption always goes down. I can't say that I don't think about smoking from time to time and in all probability always will but I always remind myself that what you save is both money and health. Your clothes don't smell like smoke your hair doesn't reek of smoke and you can better enjoy the food you eat. You can also put the cash you would have used for punching cigarettes into a bank account and watch it grow.
